The first day of the rest of my life!

Tomorrow is kindergarten Back-to-School night, which makes it my first full day of my student teaching year. And I am student teaching so that I may receive my credential and work as a teacher for as long as my heart desires. I'm so excited, and I am so ready. I don't really even feel nervous, but it probably helps that I'm going into a school where I have volunteered for the past 2 and a half years. I'm just excited to get in there and start learning and growing as a future educator.

A bonus to all of that is that I will also be conducting a research-like study of my classroom through-out my student teaching year. I'm going to get to write about my everyday usage of ACT (active, collaborative, transformative) teaching and learning and journal about the real response I get from one of the world's most honest populations...five-year-olds. Stay tuned, because it's about to get interesting. :)
